This Week in ApKmedia

Now that we have launched (thanks to all who came and celebrated with us last weekend), we will be posting weekly updates, here on our tumblr, every Friday. 

There is a lot of exciting news out of the gates, so lets get to it:

+ This morning, ESPN began airing promos that were shot at ApKmediaHQ two weeks ago. We production designed the space specifically to accomplish the look that the Director had in mind and it was a great feeling to see it live on TV. During coverage of this years’ Masters, these promos will be airing daily throughout the tournament. Look out for them. Thanks to HSCUSA.tv for collaborating with ApKmedia on these spots. 

+ Also this morning, we received confirmation that David Bazan (Pedro the Lion) will be bringing his Living Room show series to ApKmedia on Friday May 7th. Because the announcement hasn’t been made on his site yet, I will leave it there and we will post full details soon. However, I will say this…Over the span of many years, I have been a Pedro the Lion fan. When my life revolved about being a professional touring musician, we spent hours driving and flying many places listening to David Bazans’ music. There is a major place in my heart for what joy his songs have brought to my life and the lives of many musicians and friends with whom I am close. To have this opportunity to share our newly opened space, and host a micro-show (as we will be calling them) for an artist of his stature is incredible and surreal. To keep it short, I’d like to take a second to thank the tumblr of Jennifer Morris, which is where I heard about this series, and Mark Jourdain of Nettwerk for being helpful components.

+ Yesterday we received confirmation that NJ rock outfit Gaslight Anthem, will be shooting their Kerrang! magazine cover shoot here at ApKmediaHQ on April 19th. They will also be shooting the press photos for their upcoming album, which releases on June 15. We are excited to get a sneak peek of their record and to welcome them here for a fun day of hanging, talking music and collaborating. Much thanks to Anna Jacobson-Leong.

+ Earlier this week, we were informed that Interscope Records and Kate Nash’s camp dug our tracklisting piece sooo much that…it will be included in the Deluxe Edition of her new record, ‘My Best Friend is You’ releasing on April 20th (my bday!). Look out for those spots here, posting next week. 

+ Upcoming_ We are hoping to have ApKmediasite.com up and running by the end of this coming week. We shot quite a few new video elements this week to fill out the page, and we are getting excited to have it up and running. Much thanks to Josh Simmons and Brendan Banks for their creative input, collaborative efforts and enthusiasm. We have a lot more to announce next week, so please come back soon to keep tabs on all that we are doing and developing (and feel free to start following this page).
